 Hi! I am going to share some of my family member's dogs below, I hope you enjoy hearing about them!


Nala:











"She is a very loud yawner."

"Her breed is golden lab x fox terrier."

"She loves to play a lot, and she also loves to be lazy in the mornings. "

"She enjoys watermelon, carrots and apples but does not care for cucumber peel."

Buddy Chandramowle:

 



















"Very Playful & was vigilant about his surroundings;Liked to travel in a car-took him all over Europe driving."
 "I trusted his judgement about people-He was always more protective of me when he did not trust somebody[.]"

"[H]e is a shih tzu crossed with American spaniel and Tibetan spaniel. "

"He was a stray and we adopted him from a local animal shelter who found him near a marina.  The veterinarian who works with the shelter guessed his age based on his teeth and he was found to be about 2 or 3 when we adopted him. "

Roger's Sheeba's Budweiser/"Buddy":















"The way it works on his doggy certificate is, the first name "Roger" is the owner/breeder, "Sheeba" is the name of Buddy's Mom, and "Budweiser" was the official name we gave him."

"Buddy once survived after jumping off the roof of a 5 story parking structure. He jumped off without knowing there was large drop. By a true miracle, one of the biggest miracles I have personally experienced in my life, a single tall pine tree saved Buddy, and Buddy just walked away unhurt."

 Hey everyone! Today I am going to talk(type?) about SeaWorld. No one should have the right to imprison orcas, dolphins, and other aquatic animals in tiny cages. Below are all of the reasons why you can't do this. The Tanks Are Miniscule! The largest  tank at SeaWorld Orlando is 40 feet deep. Sounds great...Until you remember that that is the LENGTH OF THE ORCA!!! You shouldn't keep a goldfish in a tank 2 inches deep, so why would you do the equivalent for an orca? Also, there are some really 'wonderful'*cough, nope, cough* size comparisons to the tanks. Ok, look at this photo. The parking lots are bigger than the orca tank! Really, SeaWorld? Really? Credit to PETA for the photo-and all others that come after. One city block is twice the length of one orca tank. ONE! And it's the LARGEST one!! Dogfighting

 Dogfighting is a brutal activity. It is most often practiced with pitbulls, and pitbulls have a bad rap, so I'll start off with debunking most of it. "Pit bulls are the most abused, neglected, abandoned, tortured dogs in the world. Yet they forgive." -Tia, a dog rescuer in New Orleans.  They are sweet dogs, unless trained to be otherwise. Pit bulls are some of the sweetest dogs you could own. Sure, they can be huge, and slobbery, but they're just full of love.  Dogfighting: Dogfighting is a "sport" in which two dogs are trained to fight, and are put in a ring to fight each other for human "enjoyment". I am not sure how one enjoys this. During training, timid dogs are often used as bait. Like a poor dog named Cadence. She's a pit bull, and when she was rescued, she snuggled up to her rescuers and gave them puppy hugs. See what I mean about them forgiving us? Poaching Part One

 Poaching is a gigantic problem in many places around the world. I'm going to start with Africa and ivory, since I can't cover it all in one blog post. Let's get started. Ivory Ok, first off, ivory is made of keratin. Sound familiar? Well, that's because it's what your hair AND fingernails are made of. And turtle shells, bird beaks and talons, hooves, claws, pangolin scales, porcupine quills, all of that. And....horns and tusks. Why on earth are we killing rhinos and elephants for something that is the same chemical makeup as our hair and nails? Because of traditional medicine. I am NOT saying that tradition is bad, I am saying that it does in no way justify killing other animals for something that really doesn't work anyway. If you need a dietary supplement, just get it from the pharmacy. Please?  And, ivory sculptures and jewelry look the same as plaster, pretty much. And the plaster is WAY cheaper.
